Course Description:
Few books have ever captivated audiences year-after-year, resonating with both young and old, like the beloved and magical book and film series, Harry Potter. The Magical World of Harry Potter course will take you on a real-life, four-week adventure in London as we critically examine and discuss the imagery, symbolism, reception, and epic achievements of what is arguably the most popular book series ever written. You will visit iconic film sites, experience Hogwarts Great Hall and Library in Oxford; explore Snape’s Dungeon in Lacock; and view props, costumes and more at the Harry Potter Studios. Witches, wizards, muggles and students, join me on the adventure of a lifetime in England as we immerse ourselves in the magical world of Harry Potter. “Let us step into the night and pursue that flighty temptress adventure” ― Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Prerequisites:
English Composition

Physical Activity Requirements:
On average: 3 to 5 miles of walking. Wear real shoes - the city streets of London are rugged in and of themselves; flip-flops thin sandals or ballet flatsare not allowed on field trip events. We will spend time out in the weather not just in moving from venue to venue. Some of our activities take place outside and in whatever weather is happening that day. July in London is often sunny and even hot but youll still need to bring an umbrella with you.
