Belize: an English-speaking country in the heart of Central America, home to one of the greatest concentrations of biodiversity on the planet, dotted with magnificent archaeological remnants of the Mayan people and populated by their descendants. But diversity in Belize doesn't end with its biological wonders, as you will discover for yourself by living among the people of Orange Walk on the CCSA Belize Anthropology Program. Spend a month immersed in Belize doing field research with Dr. Doug Hume, an experienced Northern Kentucky University faculty member. Gain valuable skills such as ethnographic interviewing to develop an appreciation for Belizean cultural diversity.

Program includes round-trip air transportation from Cincinnati, Ohio to Belize and ground transportation to the program sites. Round-trip air transportation from other cities MAY be considered on a case-by-case basis at an additional cost. This program is limited to twelve students with a waiting list offered at no risk.

Participants will reside at D’Victoria Hotel in Orange Walk. Accommodations are based primarily on double occupancy with occasional use of triple rooms. Each room is equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, and private bath.
Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Lunch will be at participants’ own expense.
Ground transportation is provided for all program activities.

Jessica Lott is a cultural anthropologist with expertise in ethnography and qualitative methods and an interest in Latin America and the Latinx diaspora. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge in these areas and facilitating a transformative experience for students in Belize.
Group Travel Required
Travel together with faculty, staff and other participants from your CCSA program with our group travel. CCSA will purchase a airline ticket from select U.S. cities on your behalf. The airline cost will be included in your final bill from CCSA. In addition to the flight, you will also receive transport to/from the accommodation in the destination city and the airport.

Visas
Not required for U.S. citizens for less than a 3-month stay. Non-U.S. citizens are responsible for obtaining a visa as needed.
