June 01, 2020 —June 17, 2020
ENGL 290 / ENGL 329
Communication , English
Come explore Ireland while developing travel writing skills! We’ll develop an observant eye at Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College’s Book of Kells, and Dublin Castle, and in Belfast at the Titanic Museum. You will learn to select story-worthy facts as you explore natural wonders like the Giant’s Causeway and the Cliffs of Moher, while the Aran Islands will inspire your writing. You’ll experience the Guinness Brewery, Dublin Farmer’s Market, traditional Irish weaving, and a working Irish sheepdog demonstration. Through this Irish journey, you’ll develop your skills in observation, description, and multimedia storytelling as you write travel blogs, short features, and multimedia stories.
Junior standing or permission of the instructor.
