Choose from various courses designed to spark your academic curiosity and deepen your understanding of your chosen subject. Along the way, you’ll connect with fellow students and engage in hands-on learning through guided field trips. These excursions go beyond the usual tourist highlights, uncovering London’s hidden gems—from historic landmarks to vibrant neighborhoods. You’ll also enjoy time to explore the city on your own terms. Whether you prefer sipping coffee at a local café, visiting museums, or experiencing the nightlife, London offers endless possibilities. This is your chance to discover the essence of London, one moment at a time.

This two-week May program is an affordable and flexible option, perfect for students with summer internships or jobs. For those with extra flexibility, you can enhance your study abroad experience by adding a second London-starting summer course—and save $1000 in the process.

What is included in CCSA's Program Fee?

(Note that there may be some variations between programs.)

  • A three- or four-credit hour course
  • Cultural and class-related activities
  • Housing in double rooms or shared student accommodations
  • One meal daily, usually breakfast
  • Pre-departure advising and orientation
  • On-site orientation and administration by CCSA Program Directors
  • 24/7 emergency contact on-site and U.S.-based support
  • International health and travel delay insurance
  • At least one day trip outside of the program base
  • For programs with dual country locations: one-way flights between thw two sites (eg: London & Dublin, London & Edinburgh)
  • Partial payment of on-site public transportation costs, where applicable

Accommodations
Participants stay in modern, shared student suites located in a vibrant residential complex. With many iconic sites within walking distance and a nearby tube station providing quick access to destinations like Canary Wharf, Wembley Stadium, Greenwich, and all major London stations, the city is at your doorstep.

Each suite features a spacious shared kitchen and sitting area, along with three double-occupancy bedrooms. For those seeking more privacy, single rooms are available for an additional cost.

Full Day Excursion "Ancient British History"

Join us in a day of exploring two phenomenal Stone Circles located in northern Wiltshire.

Your exploration into the past begins in the medieval village of Avebury, where you’ll encounter the world’s largest stone circle, surrounded by other significant monuments, including a cove and two smaller circles. After your guided tour of the Stone Circles, you'll visit the Alexander Keiller Museum, which offers deeper insight into the site’s history. Afterward, you'll have free time to wander the village at your own pace and get lunch at one of the traditional village pubs.

Next, uncover the fascinating story of Stonehenge, one of the most significant prehistoric sites in Britain, attracting visitors for centuries. As perhaps the most important ancient monument in the country, Stonehenge stands as a powerful symbol of human ingenuity, creativity, and imagination. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to explore a world-class exhibition and immerse yourself in the mysteries surrounding the expansive Stonehenge landscape, gaining insight into the remarkable history and cultural significance of this ancient wonder.

Kara Arvin Kara Arvin is an Eastern Kentucky University graduate and was previously an assistant director on the London Mid-summer program in 2023. She studied abroad for two semesters in London, England, and Chiang Mai, Thailand. After graduation, she worked in Chongqing, China, before returning to the education abroad office at EKU. Arvin now works at CCSA as the Program Operations Coordinator and is excited to support students through their education abroad experience.

Javier Burrows My name is Javier Burrows. I am from Birmingham, AL and I currently work at Jacksonville State University as Coordinator for Study Abroad Programs. I love to travel, try new foods, and experience new cultures. I am excited to be working with CCSA to help lead this program to England/Ireland as I get to help students have an unforgettable experience abroad!

Group or Individual Travel Allowed

Option One - Group Travel

Travel together with faculty, staff and other participants from your CCSA program with our group travel. CCSA will purchase a airline ticket from select U.S. cities on your behalf. The airline cost will be included in your final bill from CCSA. In addition to the flight, you will also receive transport to/from the accommodation in the destination city and the airport.

You can check our currently available departure cities on our departures page CCSA highly recommends this option for those new to international travel.

Includes:
  • roundtrip air transportation from one of CCSA's designated U.S. departure cities.
  • roundtrip ground transportation between airport and the accommodation site.
  • CCSA faculty and staff to guide you through the immigration and customs process.

Option Two - Individual Travel

If you wish to make independent travel arrangements and depart from a city not listed or travel outside the program dates please choose INDEPENDENT TRAVEL from the selection below. You will book your own flights and arrange your own transportation to/from the airport and the accommodation site of the program. This is a great option for going early, staying late, or using airline miles to purchase tickets. We highly recommend participants not fly standby for these programs as a late arrival may negatively impact your grade.

Important Note for Independent Travelers: Please be aware that your check-in date may be up to 24 hours AFTER the program start date (program dates include travel time).

The Great British Art Appreciation in London

We will investigate the rich tapestry of artistic expression by examining how today's contemporary artists engage with and reinterpret works from the past and across diverse cultures.
Prepare to be inspired as we visit iconic institutions such as the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Royal Academy of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Tate Gallery. You'll witness firsthand the evolution of art while engaging with the dynamic contemporary art scene that flourishes in London's galleries and public spaces. The Grimm Reaper: Disease, History, and Fairy Tales

This interdisciplinary course invites you to explore the fascinating intersection of disease, folklore, fairytales, and culture throughout history. By immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of human storytelling and cultural expression, you'll uncover how different societies have understood and conceptualized epidemics, pandemics, and illnesses over time.
London's history of disease is both rich and diverse, offering a compelling backdrop for our studies. You'll have the opportunity to visit historically significant landmarks and artifacts, including the Hunterian Museum, the Broad Street Pump, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the city of Bath. These hands-on experiences will enhance your understanding of how diseases have shaped cultures and narratives, allowing you to engage deeply with the material in a way that goes beyond traditional classroom learning.
Join us on this journey to discover the profound impact of health and illness on storytelling and culture and see how history continues to inform our understanding of disease today.
