Initial Application
Participants from CCSA Institutions
All participants on CCSA programs must complete a simple initial application on the CCSA website. This short and guided process should take about 20 minutes to complete. Please see the CCSA admissions requirements.
- Register for a program
- Choose a course
- Pay the program fee
Participants from non-CCSA Institutions
In addition to the items required for participants from CCSA institutions you will need to provide the following with your application:
- Academic Approval Form - signed by either the study abroad office or your academic advisor at your institution
- Faculty Recommendation - Brief recommendation addressing your ability to commit to and complete a short study abroad program
- Official Transcript
Full directions are included within the application.
Campus approval process
Approval takes approximately two weeks for most institutions.
Participants from CCSA Institutions
Please ensure you have started a study abroad application with your home campus study abroad office. If your application is approved by your home campus you will be automatically notified via email.
Participants from non-CCSA Institutions
Once your materials have been received by the CCSA Central Office the Executive Director will review.
Course Confirmation
Usually occurs within one to two weeks after the application deadline
Approved (Course Confirmed)
You are approved and the course is a go. Congratulations! Your application will now indicate Applicant Approved (Course Confirmed) at the top when logged in. Time to start getting prepared for your trip.
Waitlist
You are waitlisted by order of program deposit paid. Don't be discouraged! Most of our applicants who end up on a waitlist end up obtaining a spot in a course. You are welcome to:
- Switch to a course that does not have a waitlist.
- Stay on the waitlist for your course. Spots often become available as participants drop or neglect to pay their deposit.
Orientation
All Participants
All CCSA participants must attend a mandatory on-line CCSA orientation. Times and dates are released by CCSA office.
Participants from CCSA member schools may also need to attend their home-campus study abroad orientation as assigned by their home-campus education abroad office. Please see the list of CCSA member institutions for contact details.
