Gretchen Vaughn is Professor Emeritus of the Theatre and Dance Program of Northern Kentucky University. She served as Faculty Costume Designer, arriving at NKU in 1989 and retiring in 2013. Since discovering that retirement is boring, Gretchen has returned to NKU to teach Comparative Arts and Race, Gender and Theatre as part of the General Education program. She holds a B.A. in Social Work/Sociology from the College of Wooster, a M.F.A. in Theatre Design and a M.A. in Clothing/Textiles, both from Syracuse University. Gretchen’s first teaching experience with CCSA (Cooperative Center for Studies Abroad) was the London Summer Program in 1992. Following that was a London Summer (2000), and six London Winter Break programs, all focused on theatre productions and related costume history and design opportunities. In addition, Gretchen has served as Assistant Director of CCSA programs on six occasions.
