Course Description:
Mastering the mental and emotional parts of sports competition is the focus of the emerging field of sports psychology. In this class, we will study sports psychology theories and topics in the context of British sports institutions. Field trip activities being planned include visits to historic golf courses, sports museums in London and Glasgow, as well as tours at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic and Wembley Soccer stadiums. We hope to attend matches at the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament and at Lord’s Cricket Ground and take in the British Open Golf Tournament at the Old Course in St Andrews. Lessons learned from sports psychology can help you be more successful in any endeavor.
